We keep hearing the words water soluble CBD, and Nano CBD, but what does this mean for the consumer? By now, most people have heard about the benefits of CBD oil and may have tried a few products. This new technology that enables CBD to be water soluble is helping to make products that can be better used by the body and have a higher effective rate.

What is CBD?

For those who may not be familiar with it, CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is one of more than 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, specifically hemp plants but a small amount is also in marijuana, hemp’s funky cousin. It is thought to help with numerous health conditions including nausea, anxiety, chronic pain, and sleep disorders.

Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive, and does not produce a high feeling. This means using CBD will not cause any mental or physical impairment. CBD actually counteracts the psycho-activity of THC. This means that you can drive, operate machinery, and do any other activities requiring concentration with no problem.

CBD oil or water soluble CBD?

Both are good products. They each have their own uses. CBD oil on its own is great. However, water soluble CBD is even better because it is better able to be absorbed by the body, and none of it is wasted. Nanotechnology enables the molecules in CBD to be broken down to their smallest fraction of a particle. This makes it possible to be dissolved in water, coffee, tea, or any beverage you prefer. Due to the smaller particles, it eliminates the problem of trying to mix an oil in a liquid. Since oil and water don’t mix, the oil floats on top. But not in this application. The cannabinoids can get into the bloodstream much quicker than regular CBD oil.

Why is Nanotechnology Better for CBD Products?

Ordinarily, the body can only use a certain percentage of anything we put into it. Whatever is left over is waste. Only a small amount of CBD oil actually makes it into the bloodstream (after passing through the digestive system) and the rest is wasted. About 90% is wasted due to the larger size of the molecules (2,000 nanometers) not being absorbed. Our cells are only able to fully absorb particles between 60 and 80 nanometers. So you see the problem that presents.

Nanotechnology breaks down the molecules in CBD oil to the tiniest size - like a grain of sand. Then it can be easily mixed in water and is instantly bioavailable in the bloodstream. It increases the amount of CBD the body can use and there is little to no waste.

Why should you use Nano CBD over a regular oil based CBD product?

You don’t have to choose one over the other. Each has their own uses. You can still keep using CBD oil the way you always have...as CBD gummies, topical creams, and under the tongue. This just offers a new way, another option, in other words for getting all the benefits CBD offers.

Nano CBD and Water.

Traditional topical CBD oils and creams can take a long time to have an effect because it takes longer to absorb into the skin. Water-soluble CBD does not have this problem. It is absorbed much more quickly.

Anything that goes through the stomach has to be digested and that takes some time. CBD taken orally loses some of its effectiveness by the time it reaches the bloodstream. Likewise with oils and topical creams. It takes a while to be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. So it is not instantly available for the body to use. Nano CBD, on the other hand, is ready to use instantly because it goes right to the bloodstream because the particles are so small, they get absorbed right away.

Traditional CBD oils have a slight taste that you get used to over time, but with water soluble CBD, it mixes right into any beverage with no funny aftertaste. It offers a variety of ways to enjoy your CBD so you’ll never get bored. You can mix it into hot drinks, cold drinks, smoothies, and more. Many more tasty ways to get the benefits of CBD.

Besides having multiple agricultural and industrial uses, hemp plants are rich in vitamins, minerals, and healthy fatty acids such as vitamin E and omega-3. Terpenes give it the earthy flavor it has. Some people don’t care for it, which is why there are flavored options.

NanoTechnology CBD

Water-soluble CBD is such a big deal because it has numerous benefits beyond being a convenient form of consumption. Traditional CBD oil cannot be fully utilized by the body, whereas water soluble CBD or Nano CBD, can. This is made possible through nanotechnology.

Nanotechnology involves the use of ultrasonic waves to break down CBD particles until they are microscopic in size. Nanoparticles are tiny, tiny so at this size, they can easily be absorbed into the bloodstream. They are also so small that they dissolve completely in water and other liquids.

Because of this fact, water soluble CBD has several key advantages over traditional CBD oil tinctures. The effects last longer, have a higher potency; and water soluble CBD can be dissolved in a cold beverage and consumed on the go.

Benefits of Water Soluble CBD

As previously stated, water soluble CBD offers a quicker method of absorption. It has increased bioavailability, more consistent dosing, convenient delivery method, longer shelf life, and more options for consumers. It is typically administered by a dropper, but may also be used in capsules. It may seem like the biggest benefit is being able to be mixed in water, but it is actually how the process enables it to be fully absorbed by the body, with no waste.

High Bioavailability

What is bioavailability?

The term “bioavailability” refers to the percentage of CBD that is able to enter the bloodstream after being consumed. Typical CBD oil tinctures have low bioavailability because they have to travel through the digestive system before entering the bloodstream. When consuming a dose of CBD tincture, only a small portion of what you take produces any effects in the body. This is because not all of it can be used due to the size of the particles. The liver metabolizes everything and what can’t be used is put out as waste. In fact, a significant proportion of the CBD consumed simply goes to waste.

Consistent Dosing

With Nano CBD, every bit can be used by the body so there is no guesswork when it comes to dosing. Every dropper or capsule contains the right amount of CBD so you can use it without having to do any math or calculations. Each dose is consistent with the last, allowing you to reap the full benefits of the product.

Increased Convenience

As it is, CBD oil tinctures can’t be mixed in water. The oil separates from the water and floats on top. Water soluble CBD can be mixed in a variety of beverages, hot and cold, making it more enjoyable because there is no taste. You just mix it into your beverage and drink it as you normally do. There is no aftertaste, just a tasty beverage. Since it can be consumed on the go, there are no bottles or droppers to have to carry with you. It can be consumed anywhere, even while traveling, and no one will know.

If you need to take some before a business meeting you can just put a few drops into a bottle of water or a cup of coffee without any judgments from other people. If you suffer from insomnia, anxiety, or stress this is a great relief because it means you can take it anytime, anywhere without concern.

Longer Shelf Life

Traditional CBD oil doesn’t expire, but after prolonged periods, the oil does break down and become less effective. It loses its benefits after about a year or so. Water Soluble CBD has a shelf-life of up to two years, which means you can buy larger amounts to keep on hand for traveling, camping, vacations, and more.

Uses for CBD

CBD and anxiety

CBD oil has shown to reduce certain types of anxiety, as reported in several scientific studies. A study published in Springer Nature suggests CBD is useful for alleviating social anxiety. A test was performed with 20 subjects suffering from social anxiety. They were given either a placebo or 600 mg of CBD. After a period of time (90 minutes) the subjects were asked to stand up and speak to the group. Something that provokes anxiety. The subjects that took the 600 mg of CBD were less anxious and did fine, while the placebo group performed as expected.

Quote from Springer Link:

“We found that existingpreclinical evidence strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder when administered acutely; however, few studies have investigated chronic CBD dosing.”

This is huge news for people who suffer from any of these conditions. Nano CBD with its increased bioavailability could literally change the lives of anxiety sufferers.

CBD and Chronic Pain

Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine has used a variety of medicinal plants for centuries because they are natural and do not have any negative side effects. In previous years, very little was known about CBD but more is being discovered as the benefits it offers are becoming more widely-known.

Quote from NCBI

“CBD is one of the main pharmacologically active phytocannabinoids. It is non-psychoactive, but has many beneficial pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. In addition, it belongs to a group of compounds with anxiolytic, antidepressant, antipsychotic, and anticonvulsant properties, among others.”

CBD and Epilepsy

One of the strongest cases for CBD is its ability to stop certain types of epileptic seizures. The benefits of CBD for epileptic patients have been more extensively researched than any of its other benefits. Even small doses of CBD have shown to be effective at reducing the number of epileptic seizures.

The first time many people ever heard of CBD was the case of a little girl suffering from severe epileptic seizures. Her name was Charlotte Figi. She had a rare condition known as Dravet Syndrome which appears in infancy. She began having seizures at 3 months of age. Her seizures continued into childhood, sometimes having several per day, her parents were desperate to find help. They turned to CBD when modern pharmaceuticals could not help. The Stanley Brothers, a company that manufactures CBD oil, met her and created Charlotte’s Web, a CBD oil product line named after her.

Quote from Healthline:

“CBD is currently approved to treat seizures caused by two rare forms of epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis complex. Some early studies have found that CBD may also be an effective treatment for some other types of epilepsy.”

Is Nano CBD Legal?

Nano CBD, as well as other forms of CBD oil, are extracted from hemp. Although hemp comes from the same type of plant as marijuana (cannabis sativa) it is non-psychoactive and does not produce any mind altering effects because it contains little to no THC (less than 0.3%).

To be clear, there are two forms of CBD; one derived from hemp, and one derived from marijuana. CBD oil derived from hemp with less than 0.3% THC is legal in all states. The law pertains to CBD derived from marijuana containing a higher amount of THC with a small amount of CBD. Make sure to check the law in your state before buying products online.

With nano CBD technology increasing bioavailability, that opens a world of possibilities for people with chronic conditions and acute stress.
